Pretzels
I remember the first time I had them. It was on a flight to Atlanta from Paris two years ago. I had found them to be disgusting, tasteless and had thrown the pack away. Recently I went on a trip, and every time the flight attendants offered me the small pack, I gobbled it up. Its amazing how my tolerance has gone up and my tastes have changed. For those who haven't had pretzels before, they are biscuit like snacks, normally salted. All flights in the US invariably serve them with drinks. And sometimes they are not even salted. Those who are used to having spicy Indian snacks, I advise them to stay away from pretzels. Being in this place long enough has made me tolerant to even the worst tasteless stuff. I feel I can eat anything now if it is edible, cooked or uncooked. I am sorry but I still feel strongly about worms, snakes, rodents and insects being inedible.

After almost two months of having eaten north-indian food cooked by south-indian's...
I think prbbly I can also eat anything as long as I can see others eating it...
Mural, Besides exchanging notes, both of us should carry some edibles from our current places and throw a party when we are back home...
Or a TG party where we choose the menu!
Wud be something!!!

Think again ankur, Some of the most tasteless things in the world are here tacos and nachos and pretzels and baegels and doughnuts(doughnuts are my fav of the lot now). And the worst part is one has to pay to eat them. My fav story abt food is when in London in the office cafeteria everyday i used to have tomato and herb pasta the only decent veg dish and everyday i will tell the cook to put a bit more chilli and salt and everyday he will stare at me withouht fail with a look "Are you from MARS" types. If i put sugar in coffee the 4 brits around me will have a "Yuck" kinda expression. Those guys survive without salt and sugar
Murali, I totally agree about the pretzels. I hated them first.
One reason for our tolerance is that there is no other choice on filghts these days.
